Refund Policy
In one line: unused checks are refundable for 14 days after you buy them. This page explains exactly how that works. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
1. What can be refunded
Any pack of checks bought for your traql account can be refunded, in the amount corresponding to the checks you have not yet used, if you ask us within 14 days of the purchase.
You do not need to give a reason. Partially used packs are fine — you get back the value of what is left.
We can also refund outside the 14-day window at our discretion — for example if the Service was unavailable for a prolonged period, or if scoring was materially broken for the networks you use. Ask us and we will look at it properly.
2. How the amount is calculated
We refund at the per-check price of the pack you actually bought, so a partial refund never punishes you with a worse rate:
refund = unused checks × (pack price ÷ checks in pack)
For example: you buy the 200-check pack for $56 ($0.28 per check) and use 30 checks. Within 14 days you ask for a refund. 170 checks are unused, so the refund is 170 × $0.28 = $47.60, and the 30 checks you used cost you $8.40.
Free checks from the sign-up allowance have no monetary value and are excluded from the calculation. When you have both free and paid checks, the free ones are spent first, so they never eat into what is refundable.
If you hold checks from more than one purchase, we refund against the purchases that are still inside their 14-day window, most recent first.
3. How to request one
Email [email protected] from the address your traql account uses, with:
- the pack you bought and roughly when;
- the payment reference from the invoice, if you have it;
- the wallet address and network you want the refund sent to.
We will confirm within 5 business days and, once confirmed, send the refund within 10 business days. The refunded checks are removed from your balance at the moment we confirm — so please stop spending them once you have asked.
4. How the refund is paid
Packs are bought with cryptocurrency, and crypto payments cannot be reversed. We therefore send refunds as a new outgoing payment, by default in the same asset and on the same network you paid with, to a wallet address you confirm to us.
Two consequences worth being upfront about:
- Exchange rate. The refund is calculated in US dollars — the currency prices are quoted in — and converted to crypto at the rate at the time we send it. If the asset moved between your purchase and your refund, the amount of crypto you get back will differ from what you sent. The dollar value does not.
- Network fee. The blockchain fee for the outgoing transfer is deducted from the refund. We do not add any handling or processing charge of our own.
We send refunds only to a wallet address confirmed by the account holder from the account's verified email. This is an anti-fraud measure and we do not make exceptions to it.
5. What cannot be refunded
- Checks you have already used. A completed screening is a delivered service, including when the verdict is "no risk found" — you paid for the screening, not for a particular answer.
- Keyless pay-as-you-go calls over x402. These settle on-chain per request and the result is delivered immediately, so there is nothing unused to refund.
- Purchases made with Telegram Stars. Those are processed by Telegram under Telegram's own refund rules — contact Telegram support. We can refund bot packs paid by crypto invoice under this policy as normal.
- Free checks, which had no price to begin with.
- Balances on accounts we terminated for breach of the acceptable use section of our terms. If we close an account without cause, we refund the unused balance in full, regardless of the 14-day window.
6. Failed checks and billing errors
You are never charged for a request that fails on our side — an internal error, or a chain data source we could not reach. Those checks are not deducted at all, so there is nothing to refund.
If you think you were charged in error, or your balance does not match your purchases, tell us at [email protected]. Where we find a mistake we correct the balance immediately, and we do it regardless of the 14-day window — an error of ours is not a refund request.
7. Consumer withdrawal rights
If you are a consumer in the EEA or the UK, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days. This policy gives you at least that, and does not limit any mandatory right you have under the law of your country of residence.
Note that for digital services supplied immediately, the statutory right can be reduced once you start using the service. That is why our policy is framed around unused checks: what you have consumed is delivered, what you have not is refundable.
