How do I check if a USDT address is blacklisted by Tether?
Paste the address into the checker above and pick the network it lives on. traql tracks the blacklist events emitted by Tether's own USDT contracts on Ethereum and TRON, so if the address was frozen by the issuer, the verdict says so — with the issuer named as the source. A freeze is an authoritative on-chain fact, so it carries the highest confidence traql assigns and pushes the score into the critical band.
What happens when Tether freezes an address?
The freeze happens inside the token contract, not in your wallet. Tether adds the address to the contract's blacklist, and from that block on the balance can no longer be transferred — the tokens stay visible but immobilised. No wallet, exchange or seed phrase can undo it; only the issuer can lift it. That is why a freeze on your counterparty matters before you transact, not after.
Can a freeze be lifted, and does traql notice?
Yes. The contract also emits an event when an address is removed from the blacklist, and traql ingests removals as well as additions — a lifted freeze stops counting toward the score instead of following the address forever.
Which USDT networks can I check?
You can screen an address on TRON (TRC-20), Ethereum (ERC-20), BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20) and TON. Issuer freeze events are tracked on Ethereum and TRON, the two networks whose USDT contracts publish them on-chain; sanctions, scam reports, incident data, mixer labels and traced exposure apply on every supported network.
Is the same USDT address risky on every chain?
No, and that is why traql scores each network separately. The same 0x string exists on both Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain, but its transaction history — and therefore its risk — is different on each. Screen the network you are actually going to send on.
My USDT address scored clean. Is the money safe?
A low score means no matching signal was found at that moment — not that the funds are proven clean. Public data can be incomplete or delayed, and a freshly created scam address has no history yet. Treat the score as a screening signal that tells you when to look closer, not as a guarantee.
Do I need an account to check a USDT address?
The checker on this page runs a few demo checks without a signup. For the full itemised verdict — every signal with its source, entity, category and weight — create an account and get 3 free checks, or screen from your own code with the REST API.
